DevOps Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

•To drive the organization’s adoption of DevOps culture and practices by collaborating with development, operations, QA, security, and business units such as Marketing, S&D, DG, and CR, as well as ITS teams (e.g., Architecture, PMO, etc.) to ensure effective demand  implementation , alignment, and system integration.
•To align project delivery with enterprise architecture frameworks and partner  with internal teams to expand DevOps adoption, operational efficiency, and long-term cultural alignment.
•To design, build and maintain fully automated CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., automated deployment, configuration management, containerization, zero downtime, automated testing, environment independency, microservice architecture, test-driven development, and auto-scaling).
•To improve service reliability and availability by implementing automation mechanisms such as auto-scaling, self-healing, and automated monitoring.
•To oversee and maintain end-to-end availability and performance of assigned services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence, which eventually automates response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
•To effectively monitor all aspects of assigned services and applications’ behavior to be in place and comply with SLAs and performance requirements.
•To enforce outsourcing partners to comply with agreed SLAs through close collaboration with Service Management and Operations teams.
•To perform root cause analysis of system defects and outages, leveraging automation to prevent recurrence and enhance resilience.
•To evaluate and implement emerging technologies, best practices , and industry trends into the DevOps ecosystem, ensuring their alignment with organizational needs.
•To research and develop tools, techniques, and innovative methods for solving technical issues, improving service availability, development velocity, and delivery speed.
•To stay abreast of technological advancements and incorporate relevant innovations into the DevOps ecosystem.
•To document, standardize, and share proven DevOps practices, tools, and processes across the organization.
•To collaborate with DevOps product teams to ensure solution design incorporates user experience, performance, security, quality, and operability considerations.
•To control the accuracy and completeness of assigned DevOps initiatives and results and act in a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on common goals to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Job Requirements

Education
•B.Sc. degree in Information Technology or related.

Experience
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the area of specialization
•Experience working in a medium to large organization 
•Experience in enterprise level software design, development and operations is added advantage
•Experience implementing DevOps practices at scale is added advantage
•Experience with at least one version control system such as Git is added advantage
